Brad makes it 3 in a row at Tazewell

Brad Hall claimed his 3rd win in a row at Tazewell Speedway last Saturday night (May 10th) in the crate late model division. Hall won the pole for the feature race. From there, he led flag-to-flag to pick up his 3rd win in a row at Tazewell. The track has placed a $200 bounty on any driver that can beat Hall next Saturday night.

Brad takes crate win at Volunteer Speedway

Brad Hall took the FasTrak crate late model win at Volunteer Speedway on May 3, 2008. The key word is took as Hall ran 3rd most of the race.

Hall qualified on the outside front row for the 25-lap feature. Jensen Ford got the early lead from the pole and Hall lost 2nd place to Dale Ball on lap 2. As the lead trio worked heavy lapped traffic, Ball used the traffic to take the lead from Ford. The lapped traffic would later cost Ball the win as a lapped car took out the leader.

Ford regained the lead with Hall in second. But Ford would suffer the same fate as Ball as a lapped car made contact with Ford on the last lap in turn 2. That sent Ford spinning to the inside and put Hall into the lead. Hall went on to win the race.

“Hey, sometimes it’s just better to be lucky than good,” said a smiling Hall from victory lane. “Really, Jensen (Ford) and Dale (Ball) both were a little better than us tonight, but we caught the lucky breaks when they got tangled up with the slower cars and here we are with the win. I’ve lost races before due to lapped traffic, and maybe tonight was my time to get paid back and get a win I’d had slip out of my grasp in the past. I don’t get the opportunity to race here at ‘The Gap’ all that often, but it’s a blast getting to compete here against a really strong field of crate-engine cars. This is a very good class of racing.”

Brad scores second crate win at Tazewell

Brad won his second crate win of the season at Tazewell Speedway on April 26. Hall led every lap of the race to take the win.
